This are heating up (and cooling down) in AP Chemistry!
But what exactly is a heating curve? It’s a diagram that shows how the temperature of a substance changes as heat is added or removed at a constant rate—revealing important phase changes like melting and freezing. This hands-on experiment helps students visualize the science behind phase transitions in real time!

Today, we’re highlighting the incredible work of students in Amy Hayes’ art class at Saugerties High School. Inspired by artist George Segal, students are using paper mache and plaster to create casts of their own hands holding objects that reflect their identities and interests.
