A New Sound at the Saugerties Pops Concert!

Introduced by band teacher Samuel Newsome, the Jazz Band was created to give students a fresh opportunity to explore a wide range of musical styles while building confidence and skill. Open to all interested musicians, this new ensemble brings together students eager to challenge themselves and grow as performers.

Currently made up of 10 dedicated student volunteers, as well as Band Teacher Chris Oriani, the group rehearsed weekly and showcased their hard work at the concert. Newsome, drawing from his extensive musical background, hopes students discover just how much they are capable of achieving with determination and the right mindset.

We are proud to see this new tradition begin and look forward to watching the Jazz Band continue to grow in the years ahead!
