This incredible opportunity supports first-generation college-bound students with mentoring, college readiness activities, and — if selected — two years of FREE TUITION at SUNY Ulster after high school graduation!
What You Need to Know:
- Students must be in Grade 8
- Be a first-generation college student
- Maintain an 80% cumulative GPA (75% in core classes: ELA, math, science & social studies)
- Have an 85%+ attendance rate and minimal discipline issues (or a strong teacher/administrator recommendation)
- Preference is given to students with economic need
Deadline to apply: May 2
- Students must complete an application and short essay
- Finalists will be invited for a brief interview
- Five students from our district will be awarded the scholarship
- Recipients will be notified before their Moving-Up Ceremony in June
Starting in Grade 9, PCS recipients will take part in exciting college prep activities at their school and on the SUNY Ulster campus.
